Midgleys Stove & Fireplace Center! is a growing company, and we pride ourselves on the level of service and knowledge we offer.
The Midgleys name was first known to Lane County residents as their source of fine millwork from the lumber harvested locally. The location was not far from the more widely known "Midgleys Mill" at 4th and High. Millwork encompassed a wide range of details, from rough lumber to many of the doors and windows installed in Eugene homes from 1881 to the 1970's. Members of the original Midgleys family retained ownership throughout this time.
In the early 1970's, three departments of Midgleys were sold, with new owners retaining the name of Midgleys Glass, originally with a primary emphasis on windows and weatherization. As the need for storm windows diminished, Midgleys became the first Vermont Castings dealer in the Willamette Valley. From that point forward, Midgleys has remained the source for the finest wood, gas and pellet stoves in Lane County.
In September 2005, Midgleys was purchased by Mike Collins and Roger Oberg. Both had their own homebuilding and remodeling companies since the early 80's and together formed Colberg Commercial, Inc. in 1992 to handle their commercial construction projects. They were customers of Midgleys for many years and have brought that knowledge and experience of homebuilding and remodeling to Midgleys.
Along with the construction background, Midgleys Stove & Fireplace Center! has a full staff with over 55 years of experience. We offer full service, installations, and chimney sweeping and repair. Our Chimney Sweep technicians are certified through Oregon Chimney Sweeps Association, Inc. Midgleys Stove & Fireplace Center! carries only the top names in the hearth industry such as Fireplace Xtrordinair, Lopi, Valor and Jotul. There is something here for everyone.
